Somerset Borough Mayor Swears In New Officers
Our three newest officers, Trenent Hantz, Anthony Vittone and Karissa Grossman completedtheir Oath of Honor recently. The oath was administered by Mayor Scott Walker at a recent Somerset Borough Council meeting.
Each officer takes an oath prescribed by statute when he or she is initially hired and it addresses the officer's statutory responsibilities. The Oath of Honor repeats some of those, but also addresses the officer's moral responsibilities to his/her community, fellow officers, department and the badge.
The Oath of Honor is taken in public and in the presence of the officer's family who have been invited to the ceremony. The family members are also recognized for their support and sacrifice in assisting the officers in reaching this milestone in their careers.
God speed, officers. Stay safe!
