5th Grade class at St. Peter’s School
“Building Communities of Faith, Academics and Service”
Sgt. Rich Appel, SPD’s D.A.R.E. Officer, looks over thank you cards recently received from the 5th Grade class at St. Peter’s School. The cards were hand-made and personally inscribed by the students as a project during National Catholic Schools Week to thank the department for service and protection to the community. St. Peter’s Principal Jill Y. Harris explained in an accompanying letter that the theme of Catholic Schools Week this year is “Building Communities of Faith, Academics and Service” and is designed to help “…students focus on how in big and small ways they help each other and their communities and the world around them through their studies, their faith and service to others.”
Chief Randy Cox was so appreciative of the students’ efforts and sentiments that he personally visited the class to thank the students.
